Posters on the wall...

With end of the year testing, more and more teachers HATE putting up and taking down their educational posters and reference material.  However, administrators expect to come in your room and see it up on your walls.
Now, I can't take credit for this fab idea...one of my fab team-mates does this in her room.  I got out all my educational posters and hung them up with clothes pins.  I grouped the posters by subject and in an area where they could be used for reference.  For example, my science posters are around the science bulletin board and I will change them with the unit.
THIS IS THE FAB PART - when I need to change the poster or it is time for state testing...I just yank down my poster.  When I need to put something back up, the clothes pin is ready to hold another poster.

  1. hi! Great idea! I'm just wondering how the clothespins are attached to the wall.

  3. I can't believe I forgot to mention how they are attached!!! I use hot glue in my cinderblock wall classroom...make sure it is the low heat. I find the high heat takes a little of the wall with it...ekk!

When I taught in the single wide trailer, I painted the room with kitchen and bath paint, which allowed me to use hot glue on the walls also. I have learned the hard way, however, that hot glue does not work on all surfaces. I would try it in a spot where it will not bother you if there is muck on the wall. Also, make sure you let the hot glue dry before you try to remove it. This makes a mistake turn into a HUGE MESS if you try to remove semi-warm hot glue!
